Caleb's Dream Story

Translation of Video:
Jill - So you’re going to tell me a story about your dream?

Caleb – (3 ½ years old)
When the balloons went down
Oh Mommy I guess I need to tell you a little story because this one is a little bit hard.

When the guy, When one balloon popped and they blowed the other one, then I come back down and I goed in the street, then when the car comes over here, I make sure to get on the sidewalk really quick.

Then I go to a different place called the big school where Ethan goes, and the same name was there, and there was Elijah there, and Elijah had shoes where it had lots of different colors on them.  Then we were painting on the hands, black and red and blue.  Then when we was time to go, we watch them little bit, then you come over to the school and pick me up, and then I got a chocolate, and a new pencil, and I’m probably going to get two new ones, one for me, one for Ethan, one for Mommy, and one for Daddy, all of us could have one.

Oh I forgot the God.  And the God and the Dad trying to make me have a Jesus, then I was riding on a horse, then he forced me back to Caleb.

Then the Jesus, God, Mommy and then the God, Mommy and he was coming there and see you, then your made me turn into a baby, and made Daddy turn into a little baby, and you probably turn into a little baby.

Then you probably making a really soft bed, like this.

Hold on, Mommy, you have to show it on the picture.

Ethan receives a Terrific Kid Award at school

We are so proud of Ethan, as he was selected as one of the recipients of a Terrific Kid Award at school for this nine weeks.  Below is the video of him receiving it.  Watch closely . . . he receives it in classic "Ethan style"!  :-)

Vangsnes Brothers at Crossfire

Last summer, there was an accident in Montana involving 3 brothers, the Vangsnes brothers, and one of their friends.  They were there on a summer mission trip.  These brothers are cousins of a friend of ours in our Sunday School Class.  I also think that the brothers' parents attend our church, although I don't know them personally.  Through updates from our friend in Sunday School and the church, we have been praying for this family, since this accident occurred.  Last fall, two of the brothers told their story at the youth service in the Hangar on a Wednesday night.  I was not able to attend the service, but the link to the service was posted on our church website.  I was told by many people to go and watch the service, but for some reason or another, I never made it a priority to do so.  Then today, I saw an article in the paper about a local woman donating her wheelchair accessible van to the Vangsnes family to be used by the third brother to go to his doctor appointments.  I went back and found the link to the video of the service and watched it tonight.  If you make the time to watch this video (it will take about an hour of your time), you will be thankful that you did.  I wish I would've watched it back when it first happened.  But I'm certain that God is continuing to use this brothers' story even now, and perhaps one of my blog readers needs to see this video at this time, which is why I am posting it.

Vacation Pictures as Promised

Here are some more of our vacation pictures from the rest of the week.  The second half of the week always seems to fly by so fast!  We had beautiful weather the whole time.  There was only one day that the weather was kind of overcast and cloudy, and we just made a quick trip to the beach in the evening to play ball.  And one day we were all sunburned, despite putting on lots of sun tan lotion, so we went to a children's museum inside to give the boys something to do.  Overall it was a wonderful vacation, and we really enjoyed our first trip to Litchfield.

Eyes in Our Family of 4

This is another idea I got from my friend, Kyndra's blog. Posting a picture of just your family's eyes. Pretty neat when you see them all back to back next to each other, don't you think? Even though I haven't gotten any comments on my "Blog Viewer Reveal" post yet, I am on a roll with blogging today, so I had to take advantage of the creative energy flowing! This is supposed to be one of those "out of the ordinary" posts I promised!

Blog Viewer Reveal

So, while on vacation this week, I get an abnormal amount of time to blog, search the internet, edit and organize pictures, and read friend's blogs.  I love doing all of these things, and could do them for hours and hours every day if given the chance because I really enjoy it!  While reading some friend's blogs, I've gotten so many ideas of things to blog about.  I always say that I'll have to use this or that idea sometime on my blog, but rarely actually get around to doing it.  So, I thought I would take some of my time this week on vacation to do some of those ideas I've found.

One idea I found on our friend, Kelley's blog is a "Delurking Week" post.  My interpretation of this from her is the week where people who regularly read your blog, but don't comment or rarely comment, come out of hiding so to speak, and comment on your post so that you know who reads or "lurks" on your blog.  I liked this idea, as I'm often curious about who reads my blog.  Even if it's only myself who reads it or people from my family, that's okay with me, as blogging for me is more about recording the memories in my life.  But it is still interesting to find out if there are people that you don't know or people that you do know who view your blog.

So, with that being said, I don't want my readers to feel like it's a bad thing if you view my blog regularly or from time to time and don't comment, because I do that with plenty of blogs I find myself.  But if you do read my blog, please reveal yourself in a comment!  Just for fun!  My friend whom I got this idea from just had twin boys and lured her readers to comment by promising new pictures of her twins and family.  What reward shall I offer?  Hmmm, I always post a lot of pictures on my blog, but perhaps I will do some new and interesting posts out of the ordinary this week.  We'll see how creative I can be, and perhaps the promise of some surprise posts will entice some of you to comment!  :-)

Beach - Monday - Day 1

I am so thankful we got to come to the beach this year for our vacation. We're excited to be with Scott's parents for the vacation week too. Last year we had to postpone it, because Scott had lost his job, started a new one, and didn't have any vacation time accumulated yet at his new job to go last summer. God surely has sustained us and brought us so far from where we were at last year. Now here's to a great week of fun and relaxation at the beach!

Our first day is always very busy, the boys are so excited to go and try out everything. Our schedule for today looked like this: The beach and pool in the morning, afternoon of playing in the condo after lunch, Scott and I went on a 2.4 mile run/walk on the beach (still have to fit training in for our 5K race we're doing in June!), then out to dinner at Hard Rock Cafe at Broadway at the Beach, then home. Big day = tired boys. And tired parents, but yet I'm still up after midnight blogging? :-) I guess it's just the freedom that I can feel on vacation! Here are some of my favorite pictures from our first night and day at the beach!

Videos from the Beach - Monday

We are at the beach! Yay! I haven't blogged in a while, but thought I would catch up some while on vacation. It seems that is the only time I have lately to concentrate on it. We arrived at Litchfield Beach, SC last night, and have already had a very full day on our first day. We're looking forward to a whole week here! Here are a few of my favorite videos from the day today: Ethan remembered how to swim from last summer. This was our first time in the pool this season. A very cold pool I might add too! Caleb appears to even be enjoying the beach much more than before too.
